The Women’s World Cup’s final day of group stage play is underway, and Colombia, Germany, and Morocco are all vying to advance to the round of 16.After their unexpected victory over Germany in their previous game, Colombia has the best chance.

A stunning goal by Manuela Vanegas in the 97th minute put the South American team on top of Group H and left them needing only one point to advance to the knockout stages.
They take on Morocco, who intends to pull off their own surprise. With the same number of points as Germany, the African team is presently third in the standings. They must defeat Colombia handily in order to have any chance of progressing out of the group, and they must also pray that Germany scores less than they do.

On paper, Germany’s mission appears to be the simplest. South Korea is last in the group after losing its first two games. Due to their favourable goal differential, Alexandra Popp and company should be able to advance with a victory, but they could have to settle for second place.

As England put on their best performance of the Women’s World Cup thus far earlier this week to defeat China 6-1 and advance to the round of 16, Lauren James once again sparkled with two breathtaking goals. For a chance to go to the quarterfinals, the Lionesses are currently preparing for a match against Nigeria.
